SHAWN’S REVIEW
- Taste: 2
- After Taste: 1
- Label: 1
- Buzz Factor: 4
Usually I am a big fan of this brewery’s concoctions, the Commodore Perry however let’s down the “Hero of Lake Erie’s” name. The beer is very acidic and bitter with a taste that seems to last forever! I wouldn’t generally mind the lingering aftertaste if it were a bit better than roasted horse shit.
The label looks to have been merely an after thought, with a graphic that probably didn’t have a high enough resolution to look good on the web.
I have fond memories of hanging out atop the great Perry’s monument taking in the vista’s it’s great lake provides. Now those fond memories will be clouded with daydreams of throwing this beer to the ground below.
JASON’S REVIEW
- Taste: 1
- After Taste: 1

Let me just preface my review by saying that I just don’t enjoy IPAs. They are much to bitter and strong for my taste. I understand that they have their place in the grand world of beer and also that they go wonderfully with different variety of foods, but they just aren’t my cup of tea… er… mug of beer.
Having said that, this beer is just atrocious. As Shawn says above, typically, this local brewery delivers, but this foul concoction is barely drinkable.
I can’t even review the label because as soon as I start to, I have to run back to the bathroom to try to remove this beverage from my system…
